Keynote speakers Reverend Doctor Gerald Durley and Laughlin Artz shared their experiences as agents of change in the climate change movement. Oren Pizmony-Levy’s keynote discussion “Thinking Global, Teaching Local: Sustainability and Education in NYC” illustrated how the NYC Public Schools are incorporating Education for Sustainability in their curriculum and classrooms.
The Citizen Science Student Symposium was an exciting opportunity to view Air Quality Citizen Science projects connected to environmental health impacts in local NYC communities. Students and teachers from schools throughout NYC shared their AirBeam data and pollution prevention plans they developed as a result of their findings during CELF's program.
